A postdoctoral position in millimeter-wave spectroscopy of molecules of astrophysical relevance is available in the Institute of Molecular Sciences (ISMO) at the University of Paris-Saclay. The successful candidate will optimize a supersonic-jet apparatus equipped with electrodes to produce reactive species, record the rotational spectra of the complex mixtures produced in the set-up using chirped-pulse millimeter-wave spectroscopy, and analyze the results (identification of the molecular carriers, rotational analysis, molecular constants determination). The position also entails the writing of scientific publications and presentations in international conferences.
The candidates should possess a PhD in Physics or Chemistry and excellent written and oral communication skills. Expertise in molecular physics and experimental high-resolution spectroscopy is mandatory. Proficiencies with Python and LaTeX are strongly preferred.
The position is for one year starting September 1st (with some flexibility).
