Investigating Two-Photon Spectroscopic Properties of Aza-BODIPY Dyes in the Shortwave Infrared
The Chemistry Laboratory (LCH) at École Normale Supérieure de Lyon in France is currently seeking a postdoctoral candidate to join its team and explore the two-photon spectroscopic properties of Aza-BODIPY dyes in the Shortwave Infrared Range. LCH is a renowned expert in the synthesis and elaboration of molecules and materials with multiphoton absorption for various applications, including bioimaging, photodynamic therapy, optical limitation, and multiphoton 3D printing. Recently, LCH has developed several highly performant spectroscopic tools to investigate the two-photon absorption properties of dyes and materials in the Shortwave Infrared range.

To advance this research, a candidate is sought to optimize LCH’s newly built femtosecond Z-scan setup, as well as to conduct Z-scan and Two-Photon Excited Fluorescence experiments to characterize the two-photon absorption properties of a series of Aza-BODIPY derivatives. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with organic and material chemists as well as Thales to optimize the photophysical properties of the compounds for target applications.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual with a working knowledge of physical-chemistry, laser spectroscopy and nonlinear optics to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in various research topics based on the two-photon absorption phenomenon, including collaborations with industrial partners.

In this exciting research opportunity, the candidate will join a collegial and flexible working environment. We are seeking an individual who is comfortable working alone or in a team. The postdoctoral scholar will have ample opportunities for career growth and publication of research findings in high-impact journals, making this an excellent platform for postdoctoral training and development. We welcome applicants who are enthusiastic about pushing the boundaries of scientific knowledge and look forward to receiving applications from outstanding candidates.

Fixed term contract: 12 months

Start date: immediately available

Salary: According to experience, based on the salary scheme of Claude Bernard Lyon 1 University

Required training: PhD in physics or physical-chemistry with background in nonlinear optics or laser spectroscopy

We welcome candidates who hold the nationality of any EU-member country, as well as those from Switzerland or the UK.
