A postdoctoral position is available to work in Rebecca Ingle group at University College London. The post will involve using optical and X-ray spectroscopy to study intramolecular interactions in host-guest complexes.
The project will involve using lab-based ultrafast optical spectroscopies as well as synchrotron and X-ray free electron lasers to study a variety of molecular systems, including metal-organic cages and organic complexes. Previous experience of both X-ray techniques and optical spectroscopy is not necessary but a strong background in data analysis and coding will be considered favorably. Enthusiasm and willingness to learn is key and the candidate will have the opportunity to develop their own beamtime applications as well as work together with the synthetic collaborators Drs John Lee and Cally Haynes at UCL and Dr Anna McConnell at the University of Siegen.
The start date is flexible and the position is for 33 months. The deadline for applications is 17th October 2023.
Please contact Rebecca Ingle (r.ingle@ucl.ac.uk) with any informal enquires or for more information.
