Tenured/Tenure-Track Position in Experimental Physical Chemistry
Position Description
NYU Shanghai is currently inviting applications for a position at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor in Natural Sciences, with a specialty in Experimental Physical Chemistry. The University is continuing to implement a significant growth plan following a move of its campus to the vibrant Qiantan neighborhood of Shanghai. The recently opened University building features new research space, teaching laboratories and learning environments. Interested candidates may participate in cutting edge interdisciplinary programs within NYU Shanghai, as well as with NYU’s Global Network of campuses in New York and Abu Dhabi. Collaborative research at NYU Shanghai is supported by several institutes, including the NYU-ECNU Center for Computational Chemistry, the NYU-ECNU Institute of Physics, the NYU-ECNU Institute of Brain and Cognitive Science, and the Shanghai Frontiers Science Center of Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning.
Qualifications
We seek candidates who have a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline. Successful candidates must demonstrate the potential to perform independent and pioneering research in any field of physical chemistry, and to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Letters of reference are not required at this time for applications to the rank of Associate or Full Professor.

Terms of employment at NYU Shanghai are comparable to NYU New York and other U.S. institutions with respect to research start-up funds and compensation, and they include housing subsidies and educational subsidies for children. Faculty may in certain cases have the opportunity to spend time at NYU New York and other sites of the NYU Global Network, engaging in both research and teaching.
