There is an open Postdoctoral Scholar position working in Dr. David Cantu’s research group (https://packpages.unr.edu/dcantu) at the University of Nevada, Reno.
The postdoctoral scholar will perform classical and ab initio molecular dynamics simulations to predict structures and properties of lanthanide-ligand complexes, and collaborate with other research groups with expertise in advanced electronic structure calculations and spectroscopy.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or related fields.
- Completion of a doctoral degree in the appropriate discipline is required.
- The doctoral degree must have been completed within the five years immediately preceding the first date of appointment as a postdoctoral fellow at the University.
- The individual cannot have held previous positions in the professional ranks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Research experience in classical molecular dynamics simulations, or ab initio molecular dynamics simulations, or electronic structure calculations
- Proficient coding skills
