A post-doc position is available immediately for a joint project in the Suits and Broderick groups at the University of Missouri. The project calls for development of a new instrument coupling buffer gas cooling and Chirped-Pulse Fourier-Transform rotational spectroscopy to study evaporation dynamics of polyatomic molecules from liquid microjets.
Minimum requirements are: A PhD in Chemistry, Physics or a related discipline, strong communication skills, and experience in instrument development and some combination of cryogenic systems, liquid microjets, molecular beam scattering, rotational spectroscopy, high vacuum systems, LabView and high-throughput data acquisition and processing.
The position is for one year, renewable up to three years by mutual agreement contingent on the availability of funds.
