PhD studentship at King’s College London, London, UK

A PhD project on the computational design of biodegradable conjugated polymers is available within the MRC Doctoral Training Partnership at King’s College London, under the supervision of Micaela Matta and Mark Green (project ID: BE-MI2026_18).
Conjugated polymers emit light and can generate reactive oxygen species (ROS), making them powerful diagnostics and therapeutic tools combining biomedical imaging and photodynamic therapy. The student will use a range of computational methods (cheminformatics, ML potentials, quantum chemistry, MD simulations) to predict and optimize polymer structures that are both effective for imaging/ROS generation and safely degradable in biological environment.

Further information about the DTP can be found here: https://kcl-mrcdtp.com/about/programme/.
Applications will close at 13:00 (GMT) on Tuesday, 28 October 2025 (https://kcl-mrcdtp.com/apply/application-process). Interested students are invited to contact Dr Micaela Matta for further information.
