There is an open 5-year PhD position in Theoretical Chemistry Group (https://www.irb.hr/eng/Divisions/Division-of-Physical-Chemistry/Theoretical-Chemistry-Group) at Ruđer Bošković Institute (Zagreb, Croatia).
The criteria and application instructions can be found here https://euraxess.ec.europa.eu/jobs/395111
The PhD candidate will work under my supervision on the ongoing research project Photoinduced Processes in Molecules: Theory Meets Experiment (https://www.croris.hr/projekti/projekt/11273?lang=en), led by Dr. Nađa Došlić.
The proposed research plan focuses on developing a mixed quantum-classical framework for the computation of various ultrafast pump-probe electronic spectra (such as transient absorption and time-resolved photoelectron spectra) for arbitrary alignment between the pump and probe polarizations, as well as for their circular-dichroism variants.
In parallel with theory development and implementation, the candidate will apply the developed framework to medium-size organic chromophores of interest.
A strong candidate will have a solid master-level background in quantum chemistry and molecular dynamics, and will be motivated to work on trajectory-based approaches to nonadiabatic dynamics and nonlinear spectroscopy.
