The 2026 Ultrafast X-ray Summer School (UXSS 2026)! The school will take place from 15-18 June, 2026, and is hosted by the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory and the Stanford PULSE Institute and co-organized by the Center for Free-Electron Laser Sciences (DESY and University of Hamburg, Germany) and Paul-Scherrer Institute (Switzerland). This year marks our 20th summer school, and we are excited to bring together students, postdocs and experts to discuss applications of ultrafast X-rays to a variety of fields.
Our core lectures this year will cover:
- Fundamentals of X-ray free-electron lasers
- Theory of X-ray Matter Interaction
- Atomic and molecular physics
- Ultrafast chemical dynamics
- Condensed matter physics
- Structural biology
- Matter in extreme conditions
In addition, we will have special lectures on attosecond science, ultrafast electron diffraction, resonant inelastic X-ray scattering, and X-ray correlation spectroscopy. Participants will have the opportunity to tour the Linac Coherent Light Source, and work in teams to develop their own project ideas.
Registration will open on 23 February 2026! More information can be found at the link below:
