The Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV, Tarragona, Spain) has opened a call for 28 postdoctoral research fellowships under the MFP-COFUND program. Among the different research proposals, there is also one project in theoretical and computational chemistry that will be hosted by the Quantum Chemistry Group, supervised by prof. J.-M. Poblet and C. de Graaf. The research aims at the in-silico design of efficient photocatalysts for H2 production and CO2 reduction. The study is largely based on high-throughput density functional calculations coupled to data-mining software that we have developed in our laboratory over the last five years. Our group has long standing collaborations with experimental groups that work on this topic, both national (in the ICIQ research institute in Tarragona) and abroad, in Paris (France) and Tel-Aviv (Israel). If you are a motivated student that is willing to bring this exciting project to practice, we encourage you to apply for this fellowship and join our group in the near future.

The MFP-COFUND program offers:
– Three-years contract to be started in October 2018
– One of the best salaries at PhD level in Europe (2200 €/month gross salary)
– Financing a 3-6 month research-stay abroad.
– Contribution of the URV of 7500 euros per year for training, traveling and research support.
