8th International Workshop on Plasma Spectroscopy (IPS 2018). From 23 to 26 September 2018 at Worcester College, Oxford, UK

This is the second announcement for the 8th International Workshop on Plasma Spectroscopy (IPS 2018) to take place from 23 to 26 September 2018 at Worcester College, Oxford, UK. The workshop website is at http://ips2018.chem.ox.ac.uk and will be the main source for information. The Local Organizing Committee welcomes questions at ips2018@chem.ox.ac.uk.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN

Please note the following deadlines

June 30, 2018:  Abstract submission deadline
July  15, 2018: Abstract acceptance notification

IPS 2018 will cover all modern aspects of plasma spectroscopy connecting basic research with industrial applications. The main topics of the workshop include all types of spectroscopic methods such as laser absorption spectroscopy, frequency combs, FTIR, ATR, OES, LIF, CARS, etc., and their various applications for diagnostics of gas discharges of any kind, particularly spectroscopy of atmospheric pressure or liquid plasmas for plasma medicine and catalysis. IPS 2018 is a unique opportunity to bring together plasma physicists, physical chemists and engineers developing new spectroscopic tools, methodologies and techniques, all working on plasma science.

The conference will feature the following invited speakers

Timo Gans, University of York, UK
Olivier Guaitella, École Polytechnique, France Jean-Pierre van Helden, INP Greifswald, Germany Piotr Maslowski, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland Stephan Schlemmer, University of Cologne, Germany Paolo Tosi, University of Trento, Italy

Additionally, an industrial exhibition featuring leading companies in lasers, optics and plasma instrumentation will be held in conjunction with the meeting.
