A postdoctoral position in computational chemistry is available at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in San Sebastian, Spain for a period of 11 months (renewable for additional 4 months depending on budget availability). Applicants should have experience in molecular dynamics simulations (preferably, with experience in the Gromos or Gromacs software packages). The work will concentrate on devising a method for improving the calculations of protein-ligand binding affinities via the use of the Hamiltonian Replica Exchange method. Knowledge of the C (or C++) programming language will be advantageous. The position is available immediately. Gross salary is approximately 2750 euro/month and a separate contribution to social security (health insurance, pension etc.) will be paid by the employer. Applications should be addressed to Ronen Zangi: r.zangi@ikerbasque.org.
Note that because UPV/EHU does not recognize a Ph.D. degree obtained outside Spain, practically, only candidates holding a Spanish doctorate degree can apply. Other candidates are required to homologate their degree before they can officially apply for the post, a process that takes approximately half a year.
