A postdoctoral position is available in the groups of Prof. Yunjie Xu and Prof. Wolfgang Jäger at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The research project involves infrared multiphoton dissociation (IRMPD) and ion trap-helium nanodroplet isolation (HENDI) spectroscopy experiments of ionic chiral molecular species and their aggregates for studies of chirality recognition, transfer and amplification mechanism at the molecular level.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a scientific interest in laser spectroscopy. The ideal candidate possesses:
• A recent PhD in Chemistry, Physics or a related discipline
• A strong background in laser spectroscopy experiments
• Prior hands-on experience with desk-top lasers is essential
• A good publication record
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
The appointment is for two years and the starting date is negotiable.
