It is our great pleasure to present the “24th International Conference on Horizons in Hydrogen Bond Research” (HBOND2022) that will take place at the Bizkaia Aretoa (University of the Basque Country, UPV/EHU, Spain) in Bilbao, from Monday 12th to Thursday 15th of September 2022 (hbond2022bilbao.com).
The International Conference on «Horizons in Hydrogen Bond Research» is a biennial event and has a long tradition, with meetings being held across Europe and was started by Prof. Lucjan Sobczyk in Poland in 1977. The conference gathers scientists working in the field of hydrogen bonding research and other weak interactions, who study virtually all states of matter by a multitude of experimental and theoretical methods.
Please note that the scientific program of the meeting will start on Monday, September 12th in the morning and will close on Thursday, September 15th in the afternoon. The closing ceremony will be followed by a Gala Dinner the same evening. This conference format will typically have you arriving at Bilbao on Sunday, September 11th in the afternoon, and leaving on Friday morning, September 16th.
Bilbao is the capital of Biscay and the largest metropolitan area in the Basque Country and the north of Spain. Founded in 1300, the city soon became a commercial hub associated to its port activity and iron ore exports. Although the local economy boosted with steel mills and docs during the 19th century, nowadays, Bilbao has turned into a vigorous service city, experiencing an ongoing social, economic, and aesthetic revitalization process. Bilbao received the inaugural Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize Laureate in 2010 in recognition of its integrated and holistic approach to urban transformation. Recently, the town was nominated European City of the Year at the 2018 Urbanism Awards. It is a well-connected city and can be reached by air, sea or land (plane, ship, train or car).
In addition to keynote speakers and invited conferences, there will be available a substantial number of slots for oral communications. During the registration process (coming soon through the conference web site hobond2022bilbao.com), it will be possible to select the type of presentation: either oral and/or poster.
