Dear Colleagues,
We are less than 4 months away from the opening of the 32nd International Symposium on Rarefied Gas Dynamics (RGD32) scheduled for July 4th-8th (Mon-Fri), 2022.
We’d like to remind you to submit your abstracts at http://www.rgd32.org. (The deadline is March 31st, 2022.) Authors are invited to submit their one-page abstracts online (after creating an account and logging in) by uploading Docx or LaTeX zip files. Early-bird registration will be open until June 30th.
We are also soliciting proposals for Special Sessions. The goal of the special sessions is to provide a forum for focused discussions on specific topics. A list of special session proposals received so far can be found on our website http://www.rgd32.org/special.asp. Each organized session should have 4~6 presentations. Special sessions can be arranged all in-person, all online, or in a hybrid (mixed in-person and online) format. If you are interested, please submit your special session proposals (using the attached CFSSP form) to the symposium chair at myong@gnu.ac.kr before the abstract submission deadline (March 31st, 2022).
RGD32 will be held in a flexible hybrid format. Participants can choose to attend either in-person or online, depending on their preferences. Online participants will be able to view pre-recorded presentations by in-person participants so that they have access to all presentations. We hope that this format will allow more researchers from the field of rarefied gas dynamics to participate.
Please do not hesitate to submit abstracts before March 31st, as all presenters will be able to present online if not in person. If you are not sure whether to attend in-person or online, please register as in-person first, and then change your registration to online participant if needed (changes are possible until the end of June).
Full manuscripts (optional) will be solicited in August 2022; those that are accepted after review will be published in AIP Conference Proceedings around July 2023.
To make the login and registration process easier, a file summarizing each step and all required information is attached. We will provide detailed information on entry into Korea in advance so that all participants can visit Korea without difficulty. An affordable venue will be available to participants, as well as other nearby hotels. (Check the RGD32 website for more information.)
To encourage the participation of graduate students and young researchers, we will subsidize the in-person participation expenses (a portion of the registration fee or accommodation cost) for those selected after the abstract submission deadline.
We appreciate your patience and support in this unprecedented time of difficulty, wish you strength and good health, and hope to welcome all of you in the summer of 2022.
Please contact us at rgd32@gnu.ac.kr (primary) or rgd32nd@gmail.com with any questions.
Sincerely,
Jose M. Fernandez, member of the RGD International Advisory Committee
