Applications are sought for a BBSRC funded postdoctoral research associate position to work with Dr Tom Oliver. The creating and comprehending the circuitry of life project is a collaboration between biochemists, biophysicists, computational chemists and ultrafast spectroscopists from 4 different UK institutions.
The postdoctoral research associate will work on the following aims of the multidisciplinary project: (i) assemble a new commercial ultrafast laser system to seamlessly probe photoinduced dynamics spanning 100 femtoseconds to 1 millisecond; (ii) determine the rates of photon-driven electron transfer between multiple moieties in designer proteins; (iii) elucidate the electronic energy transfer pathways between chromophores in specially tailored photoactive proteins using 2D ultrafast spectroscopies.
