Alejandro Gutiérrez Quintanilla and his group are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to join our team at IPREM (CNRS / University of Pau and Pays de l’Adour) for a 12-month project, with a possible 9-month extension, starting in January 2027.
The project combines experimental and theoretical approaches to investigate the reactivity of organic molecules, particularly hemiterpene derivatives, with radicals and other molecular species, focusing on short-lived reactive intermediates and reaction mechanisms. These reactive species will be generated by molecule-atome, molecule-molecule reaction or photolysis.
The researcher will have the opportunity to work with a range of techniques, including cryogenic matrix-isolation FT-IR spectroscopy, gas-phase UV photoelectron spectroscopy, GC-MS, and quantum-chemical calculations.
The group welcomes applications from candidates with backgrounds in physical chemistry, molecular spectroscopy, molecular physics, experimental chemistry, astrochemistry, atmospheric chemistry, or related fields. Experience with cryogenic matrix isolation, spectroscopy, vacuum techniques, experimental setup development, and/or computational chemistry would be an advantage. An interest in combining experimental and theoretical approaches is particularly welcome.
