Postdoctoral position in experimental chemical physics at Washington State University

A postdoctoral position working in constructing a new ultra-high-vacuum machine consisting of a molecular beam, a laser beam and a scanning tunneling microscope is immediately available at Washington State University.  The successful candidate will be working closely with Professor David Y. Lee on a high-risk-but-high-reward project supported by the W. M. Keck Foundation.  Applicants must have a PhD in EXPERIMENTAL chemistry, physics, or a closely related discipline with a solid training in vacuum and laser technologies.  Excellent spoken and written English is required. Microscopy experience is NOT required.

The initial appointment will be for one year, but an extension is possible by mutual agreement.  The position is immediately available, but we have some flexibility in starting date.  Interested persons should arrange (1) a CV; (2) a letter of application describing previous research experiences and accomplishments; and (3) a reference letter from his/her PhD advisor to be electronically sent to d.y.lee@wsu.edu. WSU is an AA-EO employer.
