Rosalind Franklin Position (Tenure track) in Groningen, The Netherlands

To promote the advancement of talented female researchers at the highest level of the institution, the University of Groningen in the Netherlands has initiated the prestigious Rosalind Franklin program. The program is aimed at women in industry, academia or research institutes who aspire to become a Full Professor in a European top research university. Since 2002 over 100 Rosalind Franklin Fellows have been welcomed, many of whom by now have reached the rank of Full Professor.

In the round of 2019, we have in total 27 Rosalind Franklin Fellowships to offer at the Faculty of Science and Engineering [1]. One of the positions is dedicated to precision measurements of fundamental physics using molecules. A brief description of this position is given below. The deadline for applications is the 2nd of June.

I would value greatly if your could forward this information to any interested candidates.

Best regards,

Steven Hoekstra

We invite applications for a Rosalind Franklin tenure-track fellowship on precision measurements of fundamental physics. The successful applicant will be embedded within the Precision Frontier of the Van Swinderen Institute for Particle Physics and Gravity (VSI). The group leads the NL-eEDM experiment [2]. This experiment is aimed at the precision measurement of the Electric Dipole Moment of the electron (eEDM) using cold molecules [3]. The goal of this table-top experiment is to reach conclusions about physics beyond the Standard Model of elementary particle physics. There is close collaboration with theorists, and the research program is part of the Dutch Nikhef Consortium for (astro) Particle Physics. We are looking for an experimental physicist with a strong background in the field of atomic, molecular and optical physics and an affinity with fundamental physics.
