Dear colleagues,
In June (14.-16.06.2021) the International Center for Advanced Studies of Energy Conversion (ICASEC) and the research training group 2455 BENCh at the University of Göttingen are offering a three-afternoon virtual Summer School covering different theoretical methods relevant for computer simulations in the field of energy conversion.
The study of chemical energy conversion is a thriving field of research encompassing the whole of chemistry from molecules to bulk materials and their interfaces, laying the groundwork for completely new paradigms in energy storage and conversion. Theoretical calculations play a pivotal role in this context, with a wide breadth of methods being applied to address all the relevant time and length scales involved as well as the different systems and conditions in which they operate. The Summer School intends to provide its participants a comprehensive picture of state-of-the-art theoretical methods in the field, combining tutorial and research lectures into a 3-day event. The topics covered will span electronic structure methods, dynamics and machine learning approaches. The tutorial lectures will combine accessible method overviews with a discussion of the validation and current limits of the different theoretical approaches, which are then illustrated in research talks.
Registration is free of charge and open from now until June 7th. Please register as soon as possible since the number of participants is limited. Go to:

The talks will be given as Zoom webinars.
We look forward to seeing you there!
