After the success of the ten previous editions of the International Photodynamic Meeting, held in Havana, Maresias, Oxaca, Mendoza and Cartagena de Indias, and the overwhelming demand to continue with this scientific forum as a periodic serial Conference, we are planning from 31 of October to November 4, 2022, venue of the XI International Meeting of Photodynamics in Havana, Cuba. We initially plan to organize this conference in 2020, but due to COVID 19 we have had to delay it for these dates. We hope and wish that by then we can have a significant number of participants and that the effects of the pandemic will be minimal. Two years late, we will be celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Photodynamics Conference. On the occasion of this celebration, we are back in Havana to commemorate this anniversary in its place of origin.
Participation
Scientists and students working or interested in the field are welcome to attend. The
meeting will be conducted in English.
Scope and Format
The central theme is the description, both from the experimental and the theoretical
point of view, of the physical and chemical processes related to environmental and
biological systems. The main topics to be covered are:
- Photodynamics in gas phase and clusters: spectra, energy transfer and reactions
- Ultrafast processes
- Photodynamics in condensed phases: spectra, energy transfer and reactions
- Ultracold collisions
- Photodynamics in nano and biological systems
- Collisions with surfaces.
- Molecular systems with astrophysical and astrochemical interests.
The scientific program will include invited lectures and poster sessions, with time for
discussion.
Conference Site
The meeting will take place in Havana, Cuba. The foundation of the city, in its final place next to the entrance channel of a well-protected bay, dates far back to November of 1519. La Villa de San Cristóbal de la Habana, became with the course of time the meeting place for the Spanish fleets in charge of transporting to the Metropolis all the wealth extracted from their domains in the so called New World. It also became the centre of trade and communications between the region and the Old Continent. Similar advantages, essentially derived from its strategic geographic position, also influenced directly the future development of this prosperous villa. La Habana (in spanish) was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982 and officially recognized in May 2015 as one of the New7Wonders Cities. The climate is wonderful (it never snows), the average temperature in November is 24.6ºC.
Registration and accommodation fees
Before July 31, 2022, 350 euros (for students 300 euros), afterward 400 euros. The package will cover conference fees, coffee breaks, lunches, welcoming reception and Conference dinner, as well as the Conference Program and Abstracts. Please note that, taking into account previous experiences with limited international funding, and the need to cover the Conference basic expenses, the payment of registration fees is a requirement for all the invited speakers and participants.

We have obtained special discount prices for the Conference participants and accompanying persons at some hotels near the place where the Conference will be held.
Contributions and proceedings
All persons interested in contributing to the meeting are expected to submit a one-page abstract of their contribution before July 31, 2022. All papers accepted will be displayed at poster sessions or by invited speakers in oral presentations. Abstracts will be received as electronic file (LaTeX, Word or PDF format). Template files for Microsoft Word and Latex are available, for abstract document, which will produce the proper format. A compilation of conference abstracts for contributed and invited papers will be find at web site of the meeting.
