There is an opening for a Postdoc in my research group at the Molecular Physics Department of the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society in Berlin, Germany, in the group of Giacomo Valtolina.
The goal of the project is the development of a new experimental platform for studying polariton chemistry with ultracold atoms and molecules strongly coupled to an optical cavity. The project is supported by an ERC Starting Grant.
The experiment is currently hosted at the Fritz Haber Institute in Berlin. Starting in 2028, there may be the option to relocate together with the experiment to TU Dortmund, should the candidate be interested.
Applicants should hold a PhD in physics, chemistry, or a related field. The reaserch group is looking for someone highly motivated to build and design a new experimental setup and to learn new techniques. Prior experience with laser cooling and trapping, ultra-high-vacuum apparatus, and quantum optics is beneficial but not required.
